Is a tia considered a stroke?
My husband had a sudden episode of confusion and weakness yesterday, but it passed quickly. The doctor mentioned TIA. Does a TIA count as a stroke, even if the symptoms went away completely? We are worried.

Hmm, this is confusing! So, if the symptoms go away, is it still called a stroke? Or is it like a 'pre-stroke' warning? I always thought a stroke meant permanent damage. Need to research more on this.
I'm not sure, but I've heard the term 'mini stroke' for TIA. Does that mean it's a less severe type of stroke, or something different altogether? Like, does it cause permanent damage too?
A TIA is often seen as a warning sign. It is similar to a stroke in symptoms. Do get it medically evaluated quickly.
While I don't have experience with TIA directly, in general, with health things, it's better to be safe. I know with PCOS, sometimes symptoms can be confusing. So, if doctors call TIA a 'warning stroke,' it's serious enough to not ignore, even if the symptoms pass. Always consult a specialist.
This is exactly the kind of question that makes me overthink every little ache! If a TIA isn't a full stroke, but it's 'like' a stroke, then how do you even know the difference? Anyway, I hope whoever is asking this is okay. Always best to get it properly checked.
