Is a sinus infection contagious without a fever?

My younger sister has been having a really bad cold and sinus pressure for a few days now, but no fever. I'm wondering if I can still catch it from her, even if she's not running a fever? We share a lot of things na.

Hmm, generally no! Sinus infections are usually bacterial or viral, but they're not typically spread from person to person like a common cold, especially if it's just a local infection. So, no need to panic! 😊 But still, wash your hands! ✨

Na, sinus infection itself isn't contagious, you can't 'catch' it from someone. The underlying viral or bacterial infection that *causes* it, like a common cold, *that* can be contagious. But the sinus part directly, na. Even without fever.

Having dealt with chronic sinusitis myself, I can tell you that the sinus infection itself isn't contagious. What can be passed on is the cold or flu virus that *led* to the sinus infection. So, no, a person with sinusitis won't 'give' you sinusitis. Just practice good hygiene if you are around someone with a cold, even if they don't have a fever.

I just recovered from a nasty sinus infection a few weeks back, no fever either. My doctor confirmed that the infection in the sinuses itself isn't contagious. It's usually a secondary thing after a cold. So no, you don't need to worry about passing it to others.
