Is a migraine a good excuse to miss work?

Been having really bad migraines lately, sometimes they just come out of nowhere. Is it okay to miss work because of a migraine? It feels like more than just a regular headache, na.

My doctor explained to me that a migraine is not just a headache, it can be very debilitating. So if you are having a severe migraine, then yes, it is a very valid reason to miss work. Your body needs rest and quiet to recover. Do not push yourself when you are suffering like that.

Dude, a migraine is definitely not 'just a headache.' My roommate gets them, and he literally can't look at a screen or even be in a bright room. So yeah, if you're actually suffering from one, it's a solid reason to skip work. How can you even function?

Trust me, when a migraine hits, no amount of ginger tea or head massage helps. I've tried everything. It's a debilitating pain. So yes, practically speaking, you absolutely cannot work. It's a genuine illness, not an 'excuse.' Take rest and get better.

I was just reading about migraines, and apparently, they're much more severe than a normal headache, with light sensitivity and nausea. So, it sounds like it would be impossible to focus on work. It makes sense why someone would need to miss work for it.

Absolutely, a migraine is a legitimate medical condition that can severely impair your ability to function. It's not just a 'headache.' If you're experiencing symptoms like severe throbbing pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light/sound, you should definitely take a sick day to recover.

Oh, I always thought migraines were just really bad headaches. So, it's actually considered an illness that prevents you from working? Is it different from a tension headache then?
