Is a firm mattress good for back pain?

I've been having some really bad lower back pain, especially in the mornings. My neighbour suggested I get a firm mattress, saying it helped her. But my cousin thinks soft is better. Is a firm mattress actually good for back pain?

Oh, back pain! It's the worst, stops you from enjoying even simple things like sitting comfortably for a good meal. A firm mattress is often suggested, yes, for better support. Just like a good paneer tikka needs a firm paneer, your back needs firm support! But not too firm that it feels like sleeping on the floor.

Many people find a firm mattress really helpful for back pain! It gives better support to your spine and keeps it aligned. 😊 But it also depends on your sleeping position and personal preference. Some prefer medium-firm! Hope you find what works for you! ✨

I can only share my own experience, not medical advice. I used to have terrible lower back pain, and switching to a firmer mattress made a noticeable difference for me. It felt strange initially, but over a few weeks, my mornings were much better. What works for one person might not for another, though.

This is something I've spent hours researching! It seems a firm mattress is generally better for back alignment, but not so firm that there's no give. I worry about choosing the wrong one and making my back worse. It's such a big decision for something you use every night!

Back pain is such a difficult thing to deal with, I've tried everything! Yes, a firm mattress is generally recommended. It helps keep your spine straight, unlike a soft one where you can sink. But it shouldn't be rock hard either; a medium-firm often strikes the right balance. Also try some gentle stretches.

Totally! For back pain, a lot of people find that a firm mattress makes a huge difference. It helps keep your spine aligned, which is super important. But remember, 'firm' doesn't mean rock hard; a good balance is key. Don't stress, just find one that feels supportive for *your* back!

Honestly, if it means I can finally get a full night's sleep without waking up feeling like a human pretzel, then yes, it's good! I've been told firm is better for support. My back feels like it's fighting gravity every night on my current mattress. Need a change ASAP.

I get lower back pain sometimes. So, if a firm mattress is good, does it mean those really expensive orthopaedic ones are the only option? Or can a regular firm mattress also work? I'm a bit confused.
