Is a fever blister the same as a cold sore?

I always thought fever blisters and cold sores were the same thing, but my colleague said they're not. Can someone clear this up for me?

Yeah, pretty much. Most health apps and medical sites treat 'fever blister' and 'cold sore' as the same thing. They're just different terms for the same viral lesion on the lips. Tracking your triggers might help manage them better.

Ho na, they are generally the same only. Just different names people use. Like 'aloo' and 'potato,' same thing. Don't worry too much about the names, focus on the treatment if you have one.

Yes, my child, both are one and the same. We used to call them 'herpes labialis' sometimes, but 'cold sore' is the common term. They tend to appear when one is rundown or has a fever, hence 'fever blister'.

Haan bhai, same to same. Fever blister aur cold sore ek hi cheez hai. Don't complicate it. Just use the cream if you get it, and avoid touching your eyes after touching it.

Yes, they are essentially the same. My grandmother used to say they come when your body is fighting something internally. But for proper confirmation and quick relief, best to consult a doctor. Their advice is always reliable.
