Is a 5 millimeter kidney stone big?
My scan report mentioned a 5 millimeter kidney stone. The doctor seemed pretty chill about it, but I'm still curious. Is a 5 millimeter kidney stone considered big or average?

A 5mm stone is moderate in size. Along with drinking plenty of fluids, practicing gentle Kapalbhati and stretching can sometimes help the body stay active and ease the passage. Stay gentle with yourself.
It is medium-sized. Just drink 3-4 liters of water daily to help it flush out naturally.
A 5mm stone is on the borderline, neither too small nor too big. My elders always suggest drinking banana stem juice to help clear it, but I highly recommend consulting your doctor to see if they need to prescribe any specific syrup first.
Don't worry, 5mm is still very pass-able! Just keep a water bottle with you all day and make it your best friend. It will flush out soon!
My son had a 5mm stone last year and it was a bit painful for him. We kept him hydrated with lots of water and fresh coconut water, and it passed on its own in about two weeks. Just be patient and keep up the fluids.
