A 99 temp on an infant is usually just because of heavy clothing. Try removing a layer and keeping them in a airy room before you plan a costly hospital visit. If it crosses 100.4, then you should definitely take them to a clinic.
Infants get warm so quickly, ho na. Sometimes it's just because of crying or warm clothes. Keep the baby hydrated with breastmilk or formula, and keep checking the temp.
My sister's kid always gets 99 when teething. We just keep him in light cotton clothes and make sure he is active. If the baby is crying continuously, then better show him to a doctor.
Honestly, I check my baby's temp 5 times a night and it's always 99 when they are sleeping cuddled up. If they are feeding well and playing, don't lose your sleep over 99 like I did.
Just like we adults need regular checkups for our BP, infants need close monitoring. A 99 reading is usually not a fever, but check the baby's feeding patterns and consult your pediatrician during your regular visits.
