Is 99 a fever for newborn?

My newborn, only a week old, has a temperature reading of 99. Is this considered a fever for a newborn? I'm so scared right now.

For a newborn under 3 months, any temperature of 99 F is borderline. While it is usually just due to over-wrapping, it is always safest to consult your pediatrician directly to rule out any infection.

My newborn had 99 yesterday and we got so scared. The doctor told us she was just overdressed. We removed one swaddle layer and her temp came down to 98.2 within an hour.

99 is just normal baby warmth. Keeping the baby's environment calm, clean, and well-ventilated is key. If you feel any doubt, a quick checkup with the pediatrician is best.

99 is just your newborn's way of saying 'hey, it's hot in here!' Their heating systems are still being installed. Just loosen their blankets a bit and they'll cool down.

I am not a doctor, but with both my kids, 99 was quite normal in the afternoons. I used to just wipe them with a damp cloth and make sure they were feeding well.

Hey there. Medically, a true fever in newborns is 100.4 F or higher. 99 is just borderline warmth, often caused by crying or feeding. Keep them comfortable and recheck in an hour.

While 99 is mostly normal, please monitor very closely. We had a bad experience where we ignored mild warmth and it escalated. If the baby is lethargic or refusing feeds, see a doctor immediately.

Chinta mat karo beta, bache thode garm hi hote hain. 99 bukhar nahi hai. Bache ko halke kapde pehnao aur maa ka doodh pilate raho, sab thik rahega.

99 is not a fever, but since newborns are delicate, we must keep them stable. Make sure the mother is hydrated so the breastmilk is plentiful, which naturally keeps the baby cool.

I totally get it, seeing 99 on the screen for your precious tiny baby can make your heart race. But please don't panic, newborns naturally run a bit warmer. Just dress them in light cotton.
