Is 4 cycle and 4 stroke the same?

I'm trying to understand more about bike engines. Someone mentioned '4 cycle' and '4 stroke' in a conversation. Are 4 cycle and 4 stroke the same thing, or is there a difference? Confused ho gaya thoda.

Yes, they mean the same thing in engine terms. A 4-cycle engine is just another name for a 4-stroke engine.

Haan na, both are actually the same thing only. People use both terms for the same type of engine, so don't get confused, ho na.

Yes, they represent the same process of four stages. It is like the four phases of a deep, complete breath cycle—intake, holding, release, and rest.

I totally get it, all these mechanical terms can be so confusing when you first hear them! Yes, they are exactly the same thing, just different terms used by different people.

Yes, in mechanical terms they are the same. Just like we have different names for the same grain in different regions, these are just two names for the same engine type.
