How widespread is typhoid?
There have been a few cases of typhoid in my locality recently, and I'm a bit concerned. I was wondering, how widespread is typhoid generally in India or other parts of the world?

Typhoid is still highly prevalent in India, especially during the rainy season due to water contamination. When my son got high fever, we immediately went to Max Hospital and got a proper Widal test done. Always consult your doctor for diagnosis instead of guessing.
It is quite common in our country, but with proper hygiene and drinking clean water, we can protect ourselves. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.
At this point, typhoid is almost like an annual visitor in Indian cities during the monsoons. If you drink municipal water without boiling or filtering it, you are basically sending an open invitation. Keep your water filters serviced on time!
Oh it is super common, especially in hostel areas because we keep eating cheap street food. Half of my wing fell sick last semester after trying some local panipuri. Lesson learned: stick to clean places, guys.
Typhoid is so widespread here that almost every second person in my office has had it at least once. I am already sleep-deprived from work, and the thought of getting contaminated water makes me want to live on boiled water forever!
