How was malaria eradicated in the us?

I was reading about malaria control and how effective some countries have been. Someone mentioned that the US actually eradicated it a long time ago. How exactly did they manage to do that?

Actually yaar, they used a lot of DDT spraying back in the late 1940s to completely get rid of the mosquitoes. Plus they drained a lot of swamplands where breeding was happening. It was a massive government effort, quite wild if you read about it.

They eradicated it through massive drainage projects and spraying, but malaria is still very real here in India. I once ignored a high fever thinking it was just a regular cold, and it turned out to be malaria which severely dropped my platelets. Please get tested immediately if you have a fever.

They did it using massive mosquito control programs, drainage, and improved housing in the 1940s! 🦟 It is amazing how public health campaigns can change things. Stay safe and keep your surroundings clean! ✨

I know how stressful it is to live in areas with high mosquito breeding, I get so anxious every monsoon about malaria and dengue. In the US, they managed to wipe it out decades ago through systematic spraying and improving living standards. I wish we could achieve that level of control here soon.

When my son got malaria last year, it was so painful to see him suffer with high shivering chills. In western countries, they cleared it out by draining stagnant waters on a very large scale. Till we reach that level, we must protect our kids with good mosquito nets and repellents daily.

They basically sprayed a lot of pesticides and got rid of stagnant water back in the 1950s. Meanwhile, I am sitting here at 2 AM slapping mosquitoes in my own room because I forgot to turn on the repellent machine. Life is unfair!

I totally get it, learning about how other countries solved these big health crises is so fascinating. They basically combined massive chemical spraying with better window screens in homes to keep mosquitoes out completely. It was a highly organized national effort.
