How warm is a fever?

My little one has been feeling quite warm for the past hour. I don't have a thermometer right now, so I'm trying to figure out if this feels like a proper fever or just a bit of warmth. How warm does a person generally get when they have a fever?

A normal body temperature is around 98.6°F, and anything above 100.4°F is considered a real fever. When my kids get warm, I use a cold compress on their forehead to bring the temperature down naturally, but always keep a thermometer handy for exact readings.

Normally, a fever is anything above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For diabetic patients like us, a high fever can cause blood sugar levels to spike rapidly, so we must monitor both temperature and sugar very closely during an illness.

I usually feel a bit warm and tired even at 99°F, but medically a fever starts when the thermometer reads 100.4°F or more. Just take some rest, drink plenty of warm fluids, and don't panic unless it goes very high.

At my age, even walking up the stairs makes me feel warm! But seriously, if your thermometer shows above 100°F, it is a fever. Just take a paracetamol and lie down instead of trying to be a superhero.

In my days, we didn't always have digital thermometers, we just touched the forehead to feel the warmth. Anything above 100 degrees is a proper fever. Just rest well, eat simple khichdi, and it will go away in a few days.
