How to wrap foot for top of foot pain?

My father has been complaining about pain on the top of his foot after his morning walks. I want to help him by wrapping it properly for support. What's the correct way to wrap a foot for this kind of pain?

I get so anxious when my foot starts hurting because I worry it might be a stress fracture. When wrapping it, make sure you don't pull the crepe bandage too tight, as it might cut off circulation and make the pain worse. Please keep it loose and comfortable.

When I had pain on the top of my foot from tight shoelaces, I used a figure-eight wrap with an elastic bandage for light support. I just avoided wrapping too tightly over the tender bones. It helped me keep the foot stable while resting it at home.

Please be very careful; I once ignored top of foot pain, kept wrapping it, and ended up with a severe tendonitis issue that took months to heal. If the pain is sharp, swelling is high, or you can't bear weight, do not rely on a wrap. Go see an orthopedic specialist immediately.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Just use a simple crepe bandage and wrap it in a figure-eight style around your ankle and midfoot for support. Make sure you can easily slip a finger under the wrap so it’s not too tight, and give it some rest today.

I visited a sports physiotherapist at our local hospital when I hurt my foot. He showed me the exact way to wrap it to avoid putting pressure on the dorsal nerves. Ask your doctor or a physio to demonstrate the wrap clearly so you don't cause further damage.

I completely panicked when I woke up with top-of-foot pain last year, thinking I had damaged a ligament. But it turned out to be just a mild strain from running. Wrapping it gently with a simple bandage and resting it for two days worked perfectly.

I usually try to be very gentle with my body when I have any joint or muscle pain. A simple soft wrap can help support the foot, but make sure you aren't ignoring any deeper inflammation. It is always safer to rest the foot completely and seek advice if it doesn't improve.
