How to winterize a 2 stroke jet ski?
My jet ski has a 2-stroke engine, and I'm planning to store it for the colder months. I've heard you need to winterize them, but I'm not sure about the specific process for a 2-stroke model.

Hey, don't stress too much about it, it is actually quite straightforward! Just flush the exhaust system with clean fresh water, add some fuel stabilizer to the tank, and fog the carburetor. It keeps everything fresh till next season.
Just like how a physician advises protecting our lungs in extreme cold, you must protect the internal engine chambers here. Research shows that condensation can corrode 2-stroke pistons, so spraying fogging oil into the spark plug holes is highly recommended.
We do this for our family jet ski every year before the monsoon or cold months. Make sure you remove the battery and store it on a charger indoors, otherwise it will be completely dead when you want to ride it next.
After flushing the system, blow out any remaining water from the cooling lines by revving the engine in short bursts. Don't run it dry for more than 15-20 seconds or you might damage the impeller. Regular grease on the fittings is also a must.
Taking good care of things beforehand saves so much trouble later. Clean the body thoroughly and apply a light coat of WD-40 on metallic parts to prevent rust from forming in the cold air. Cover it with a breathable sheet.
