How to walk with lower back pain?

I've been having lower back pain for a few months now, especially when I walk for long periods. Sometimes it feels like my legs also get a bit stiff. What's the right way to walk when you have lower back pain so it doesn't get worse?

Please don't push through severe back pain. I ignored a mild ache once and kept walking, which ended up worsening my disc issue. Get it checked by a doctor first.

Bro, wear good cushioned shoes and walk only on flat surfaces. Keep your strides short and don't bend forward while walking. It helped me a lot.

Keep your core slightly engaged to support your lower back. Walk at a very gentle pace and stop immediately if you feel any sharp pain.

I agree, keeping your spine straight and taking slow steps is very important to avoid strain.

I have managed back pain for years. Take short, frequent walks rather than one long walk, and avoid hard concrete ground; walk on grass if possible.

I know how frustrating this is! I found that doing extremely light hamstring stretches before walking really helped release my lower back tension.

Don't overdo it. Walk slowly for just ten minutes, and if the pain increases, sit down immediately and consult an orthopedist.
