How to use towel on forehead for fever?

My grandson has a high fever, and my grandmother always used to put a wet towel on the forehead. What's the right way to use a towel on the forehead for fever, like should it be cold or warm? Just want to help him feel better.

Ah, the classic Indian mom treatment! Just soak a small clean towel in normal tap water, squeeze out the excess water, and slap it on the forehead. Please don't use ice-cold water unless you want to shock your system and start shivering like a leaf!

I have spent half my life doing this for my kids and husband! Use normal or slightly lukewarm water, dip the cloth, wring it well, and change it every 2-3 minutes as it gets warm. It doesn't cure the infection, but it keeps their grumpy faces a bit comfortable.

Hey, don't stress too much, a fever is just your body fighting off a bug. Just place a damp, cool towel on your forehead or back of the neck while resting in bed. Keep drinking plenty of water and coconut water to stay hydrated.

Using a damp towel is a good supportive way to bring down body temperature through evaporation. However, it is not a replacement for proper diagnosis. If you have a high fever accompanied by a stiff neck, difficulty breathing, or severe shivering, seek immediate medical attention.

Whenever I get a fever, I use a soft cotton hanky dipped in normal water and place it on my forehead. It really helps soothe that throbbing headache. If your fever crosses 102 degrees or doesn't go down with normal paracetamol, please consult a doc.
