How to treat thumb arthritis?

My right thumb has been giving me a lot of pain lately, especially when I try to open jars or do household chores. The doctor said it might be arthritis. I'm wondering if there are some home remedies or exercises that can help, because I really want to avoid surgery if possible.

Warm mustard oil massages and soaking your hands in warm water with rock salt can give very nice relief to stiff joints. However, if your thumb pain is severe and making it hard to hold things, please consult an orthopedic doctor. Natural tips are only to support your main medical treatment.

Don't ignore thumb pain because we use our hands constantly for work. Go straight to a hand specialist or orthopedist, get an X-ray done, and wear a thumb spica splint to immobilize the joint. It is a very common issue and highly manageable with proper medical care.

Please get this evaluated early by a professional doctor. I ignored my thumb pain for months, thinking it was a simple sprain, and ended up with severe joint damage that required long-term physiotherapy and splinting. Early medical intervention can save you from a lot of complications.

As a diabetic, I know that joint inflammation can sometimes be linked to high blood sugar levels. Keeping your diabetes strictly under control through proper diet and medication helps reduce overall body inflammation, including thumb pain. Please consult your physician before taking any joint supplements.

My thumb hurts so much from scrolling through my phone during my sleepless nights that I think I have self-diagnosed myself with five different diseases by 4 AM. Honestly, just go see an orthopedist and get a thumb splint. It will save you a lot of worry and pain.

Managing any joint pain requires looking at your overall health and lifestyle. Since I have high BP, I have to be very careful with taking random pain killers as they can affect blood pressure and kidneys. It is always best to let your doctor prescribe safe anti-inflammatory medications.

I have recently started feeling a dull ache at the base of my thumb when opening jars or typing. Is this how thumb arthritis usually starts, and does wearing a bandage help? I would appreciate any gentle advice on what steps to take first.
