How to treat seborrheic eczema on scalp?

My scalp is constantly itchy and has yellowish flakes, which my doc confirmed is seborrheic eczema. I've tried a few shampoos but nothing really works long-term. What else can help?

Look, seborrheic eczema is not just normal dandruff that will go away with random cosmetic shampoos. You need to use a medicated antifungal shampoo, like one containing ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione, and leave it on for 5 minutes before washing. Stop applying heavy oils as they make the yeast grow more; just consult a skin doctor and follow their advice.

I had this bad flaking on my scalp last year and tried putting onion juice and whatnot, which only made it burn. Finally, went to a dermatologist who told me to stop oily treatments completely and prescribed a medicated shampoo. It cleared up in three weeks, so just get the right doctor's shampoo and don't waste time.

Hey there! Don't worry, scalp flaking is super common and totally manageable. 😊 Try switching to a mild, fragrance-free shampoo for daily use, and keep your hair scalp dry and fresh. A healthy, stress-free mind also helps a lot, so take a deep breath and stay positive! ✨

I know how uncomfortable and itchy a flaky scalp can get, but please try not to scratch it with your nails as it can cause small wounds and infections. Use lukewarm water instead of hot water for hair washes, and avoid harsh styling gels. Let's get it checked by a dermatologist so we can get you the right mild lotion.

In my younger days, we used to get worried about these skin scales, but with time I realized they are just seasonal flares that can be easily managed. Keeping your comb clean and washing your hair regularly with a mild cleanser is key. Don't worry, with a doctor's guidance and a simple routine, your scalp will heal beautifully.

Arrey, yeh scalp ka flaking toh bohot annoying hota hai, haan? Hum log sochte hain ki tel lagane se thik hoga, par actually oil se yeh aur badhta hai, na. Apne dermatologist se ek baar consult karke ek achi medicated shampoo le lo, sab thik ho jayega bilkul chinta mat karo.

Welcome to the community! For seborrheic eczema on the scalp, the key is consistency with your medicated shampoo—usually twice a week is recommended by doctors. Make sure you gently massage it into the scalp, not just the hair, and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing. Keep your hair dryer settings on cool and avoid heavy hair oils.
