How to treat root canal pain at home?

Had a root canal done a few days back, and it's still hurting quite a bit. The pain is throbbing and makes it hard to eat. Is there anything I can do at home to get some relief until my next appointment?

Oh god, tooth pain is literally the worst and it can make you feel so anxious and sleepless. I completely understand how desperate you must be feeling for relief right now. Try rinsing with warm salt water gently to soothe the area, but please call your dentist first thing in the morning so you don't have to suffer.

When you have intense tooth pain, avoid heavy workouts or weightlifting because clenching your jaw will make the pain much worse. Stick to gentle walks if you feel up to it, and keep yourself well hydrated. But definitely don't skip your dental appointment, home tips are just temporary fixes.

Stay calm and keep your mind positive, as panicking only increases our perception of physical pain. Try placing a small piece of cotton dipped in clove oil near the tooth to soothe the nerve gently. Take deep, slow breaths to relax your body, and do visit your dentist for proper care.

Hey, for root canal pain, a warm saltwater rinse is the safest home remedy to keep the area clean and reduce throbbing. If the pain is severe, you can take a basic over-the-counter painkiller that usually suits you, but don't keep popping pills. You need to see the dentist to get the actual infection cleared out.

At my age, half my teeth have either had a root canal or are planning to get one! For temporary peace, I just put a cold pack on my cheek and avoid chewing anything harder than khichdi. Don't try any wild internet stunts, just call your dentist and get it over with.

Please don't start putting random spices or raw garlic paste on your gums, as it can cause chemical burns and make the pain ten times worse. There is no home cure for an infected nerve inside a tooth. Only a dentist can clean it out safely, so ignore the online hacks and book an appointment.
