How to treat numbness after stroke?

My elder sister had a stroke a few months ago, and even now, she experiences numbness in one side of her body. It's very frustrating for her and affects her daily tasks. What are the ways to treat this numbness after a stroke and help her regain sensation?

Please do not delay seeking medical care for post-stroke symptoms. I once ignored a lingering numbness thinking it would resolve on its own, but it was a sign of another mini-stroke. Contact your neurologist immediately.

As someone managing a chronic health condition, I know how vital regular follow-ups are. Post-stroke numbness requires systematic nerve assessment and routine checkups with your specialist to track your nerve recovery progress.

I highly recommend visiting a multidisciplinary stroke rehabilitation center. The medical team there can prescribe specific neuro-rehabilitation exercises and track your progress safely. Avoid any unverified alternative therapies.

My elder brother had some numbness after his stroke. While our family elders suggested various herbal oil massages, we strictly stuck to the occupational therapy exercises prescribed by his neurologist, which helped him regain sensation gradually.

Recovery after a stroke takes a lot of patience and gentle care. Please stay in touch with your doctors and follow the physical therapy routine they have designed for you.

In my uncle's case, the numbness in his hand after the stroke slowly improved after several months of dedicated sensory re-education exercises. I can only share that patience and consistent therapy were what worked best for his recovery.

Post-stroke numbness is a neurological issue, not a muscular one, so standard massages won't help. You need professional physiotherapy and nerve stimulation therapies under medical supervision. Get an appointment with a rehab specialist today.
