How to treat muscle pain after seizure?

My younger brother had a seizure recently, and since then he's complaining about a lot of muscle pain all over his body. It's making it difficult for him to move around. We've given him some basic painkillers, but is there any specific way to help with this kind of muscle pain after a seizure?

Seizures are like a heavy workout that your body never signed up for, no wonder the muscles feel totally beaten up. Gentle warm water baths and simple rest are your best friends here. Just take it easy and don't try any quick gym stretches to fix it.

The muscle soreness after a seizure is due to heavy involuntary contractions. Drink plenty of water and ORS to balance electrolytes, and rest completely. Do not use heavy massage machines as the muscles are already highly strained.

Please make sure you tell your neurologist about the post-seizure muscle pain. I ignored severe soreness once, and it turned out to be a muscle injury from the fall. A quick checkup ensures there are no hidden strains or internal issues.

Muscle pain post-seizure is very common but requires patience. Take a couple of days off work to rest fully and let your body recover. If the pain is unbearable or your urine is very dark, consult a doctor immediately as that needs medical evaluation.

I have seen many families deal with this recovery phase. A gentle warm compress and a very light massage with coconut oil can ease the tightness. Always ensure the patient is well-hydrated and sleeping in a comfortable position.
