How to treat low fever?

My son has been having a low fever for a few days now, nothing too high, just around 99-100 F. He's a bit lethargic but otherwise okay. What's the best way to treat a persistent low fever in children?

Whenever I get a low fever during exams, I just drink hot ginger tea, take steam, and sleep it off. Usually, it's just exhaustion or a mild cold.

Please don't ignore even a mild fever if it lasts more than 3-4 days. I ignored my low-grade fever thinking it was just stress, and it turned out to be a severe urinary tract infection that required hospital care.

Take proper rest, let your body heal naturally. Drinking warm water and eating light, fresh homemade khichdi will help restore your energy safely.

A persistent low fever can sometimes indicate underlying issues like typhoid or dengue in the early stages. Please get a proper blood test done if it doesn't settle in a couple of days.

Agree with taking rest. Just checking your temperature every 6 hours with a digital thermometer helps you track if it is rising.

I get so worried with even a minor temperature rise, thinking it's something big. Usually, it's just my body fighting a minor bug, but a quick call to the doctor always helps calm my mind.

If the temperature is below 100°F, you don't always need heavy antipyretics. However, consulting a general physician to rule out any viral infection is the safest path.
