How to treat hypoglycemia without diabetes?

Sometimes I suddenly feel very dizzy, weak, and shaky, and my blood sugar drops quite low even though I don't have diabetes. My doctor said it's hypoglycemia. What should I do when this happens to bring my sugar back up quickly?

Since I have thyroid, I know how tricky non-diabetic metabolic issues can be. You need to get proper blood tests like fasting insulin and cortisol done under a doctor's guidance. Regular follow-ups are crucial to find why your sugar is dropping.

Non-diabetic hypoglycemia can stem from various underlying issues like hormonal deficiencies or liver conditions. While eating small, frequent meals helps stabilize sugar levels, a thorough evaluation by an endocrinologist is the best and safest approach.

I went through this recently where my sugar would drop suddenly after heavy meals. My doctor advised me to stop eating simple carbs and switch to complex carbs and proteins, which completely solved it. Eating smaller portions every 3 hours worked wonders for me.

I completely understand how scary it feels when your blood sugar drops and you feel weak or faint out of nowhere. Please don't panic, it is manageable. Keep some roasted chana or a fruit with you always, and do visit a doctor to get a peace of mind.

Actually, this means you get to eat more often! Jokes aside, instead of three huge meals, start eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Focus on things like nuts, paneer, and eggs to keep your energy steady without those sudden sugar crashes.

I get so dizzy and sweaty suddenly if I don't eat on time, even though my diabetes test is normal. It is really terrifying when the hands start shaking. Does anyone else here experience this and what do you do instantly to feel normal?

Listen, low sugar is dangerous, whether you have diabetes or not. Don't try to manage this purely on your own. Go to a general physician, get your liver and pancreas checked, and stop skipping meals under any circumstances.
