How to treat high fever in adults?

My husband recently had a very high fever, like 103 degrees Fahrenheit. We gave him some paracetamol, but I was wondering if there are other things to keep in mind when treating high fever in adults at home?

First of all, don't ignore a high fever thinking it will just go away. Do some cold-water sponging to bring the temperature down and stay fully hydrated with water or ORS. If the fever stays high for more than 48 hours, go get a blood test done.

Stop searching for home cures online for a high fever, as it could be dengue, malaria, or typhoid. Get a proper medical consult and follow the doctor's prescription. Do cold sponging only as a temporary measure to cool down.

For a high fever in adults, monitoring the temperature with a thermometer is key. Keep the room cool, wear lightweight clothing, and do gentle forehead sponging with tap water. If the fever exceeds 103 F or is accompanied by a severe headache, see a physician immediately.

Make sure to completely rest and avoid any physical exertion or walking when your body temperature is high. Keep sipping fluids to stay hydrated, and consult your doctor to get the right treatment plan.

When you have a high fever, skip your workouts completely and let your body rest. Focus on drinking electrolytes and water to prevent dehydration. If the fever doesn't break in a day or two, consult a doctor immediately.

Drinking warm tulsi tea and doing cold wet cloth sponging on the forehead are great to manage mild symptoms. But if the adult is experiencing shivering, confusion, or a very high fever, please take them to a doctor immediately.

Just like with kids, high fever in adults requires close tracking and plenty of fluids like coconut water. Make sure they rest in a well-ventilated room and do cold sponging. If the temperature doesn't come down, please visit a doctor.

My father has a very high fever since yesterday and he is feeling extremely weak. Is it safe to just do cold sponging at home, or should we take him to the local clinic right now to be safe?
