How to treat heat stroke at home?

It's getting very hot here, and last summer my neighbor actually got heat stroke. What are the best ways to treat heat stroke at home, just in case someone in my family gets it?

When the summer heat is too much, I always sip on chilled sweet lassi or raw mango panna to stay cool. But remember, a real heat stroke is a severe emergency, so if someone is dizzy or has high fever, rush them to a doctor instead of just giving them cool drinks.

Dilli ki garmi me heat stroke bohot common hai, toh dhoop se aakar nimbu paani peena chahiye, haan. Par agar kisi ko tez bukhar ya behoshi ho rahi hai, toh turant doctor ke paas le jao na, ghar pe mat ruko.

For hydration during hot days, we must avoid sugary sodas or heavily sweetened juices, especially if managing diabetes. Plain water or salted buttermilk is best, but please seek immediate medical help if someone has severe symptoms of heat stroke.

My doctor told me that a true heat stroke is a medical emergency because the body's cooling system fails. You should move the person to a cool, air-conditioned room, apply cool wet cloths, but call for a doctor immediately if they are confused or vomiting.

For mild heat exhaustion, sip water, use a fan, and apply cool packs to the underarms and neck. However, if the person's temperature is very high or they are unconscious, it is a medical emergency. Please get them to a hospital right away.

I always keep ORS packets at home during summers to treat mild dehydration. If someone is showing signs of heat exhaustion, get them into the shade and give them fluids, but if they have high fever or are fainting, take them to a hospital immediately.

Do not treat severe heat stroke at home because it can be fatal without proper IV fluids. Go to a well-equipped hospital emergency room immediately and ask the doctor for the best recovery path.
