How to treat eczema on newborn face?

My newborn baby has developed red, scaly patches on his face, especially on his cheeks, and our paediatrician mentioned it could be baby eczema. I'm very worried. How should I treat eczema on my newborn's face safely?

Oh, seeing those red patches on a tiny face is so stressful. My sister's baby had this, and we just used a very mild, fragrance-free baby moisturizer three times a day. Try to avoid scented soaps and keep their nails short so they dont scratch.

For newborn skin, less is always more. I always advise new moms to avoid rubbing the baby's face with rough towels after bath. Just pat dry gently and apply a doctor-approved emollient immediately while the skin is still slightly damp.

Please be very careful and don't try random home remedies on a newborn's delicate face. My niece got a severe skin infection because they tried some homemade paste. It is always best to show it to a pediatrician first.

In our family, we used to bathe babies in water boiled with neem leaves, but for a newborn's face, you have to be extremely gentle. Do not use strong baby washes or traditional ubtan right now. Just pure, clean lukewarm water is enough.

Keep the baby's room well-ventilated and avoid putting too many synthetic clothes. Natural, breathable cotton works best for sensitive skin. A peaceful, cool environment really helps reduce the flare-ups.

My mother-in-law suggested using virgin coconut oil, which is actually very soothing. But for my baby's face, I still checked with our doctor first to be safe. They gave us a mild cream that cleared it up beautifully in a week.
