How to treat eczema flare-up at home?

I have eczema, and sometimes it just flares up out of nowhere, causing intense itching and redness. I really need some quick remedies I can do at home to calm it down. What's the best way to treat an eczema flare-up at home?

I am also starting to get these dry, red patches on my wrists lately. I was wondering if applying normal mustard oil is safe for this, or does it make the itching worse? If anyone has tried it, please let me know.

My skin got extremely dry and prone to eczema flare-ups because of my underlying thyroid issues. I highly recommend getting a basic blood test done to see if your thyroid or vitamin levels are triggering this dry skin. Always consult your doctor to treat the root cause.

The key is to keep the skin barrier moist. Apply your emollient immediately after your bath when the skin is still damp. Avoid scrubbing with loofahs or rough towels, and if you see any fluid leaking or yellow crusts, please visit a clinic as it might need an antibiotic.

I was reading about this online because my cousin has it, and apparently even your laundry detergent can trigger a flare-up. Maybe try switching to a baby detergent for your clothes and sheets. It's a simple change that might save you from a lot of irritation.

Staying hydrated inside out is super important when you have dry skin issues. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, especially if you work out a lot and sweat. Sweating can irritate eczema, so wipe it off quickly with a soft damp towel.

Just take it easy and don't stress too much right now. Applying some simple cold-pressed coconut oil can help soothe the dryness for now. Hope your skin feels better very soon.

Instead of buying ten different fancy anti-itch creams online, just invest in one good consultation with a local dermatologist. They can give you a targeted prescription that actually works, saving you money on useless products. A big tub of basic petroleum jelly is the most budget-friendly moisturizer you can get.
