How to treat ear pain at home?

Kal se mere kaan mein bohot dard ho raha hai, aur abhi doc ke paas jaane ka time nahi mil raha. Kuch gharelu upchaar hai kya for ear pain? Something I can do right now to get some relief?

I have answered this topic quite a few times here. For mild ear discomfort, you can apply a warm compress around the ear using a clean cloth dipped in warm water, which really helps soothe the throbbing. But please, never put hot oil or ear drops inside the ear canal without a doctor's nod.

Please go to an ENT specialist instead of putting anything in your ear. I ignored a minor earache thinking it would go away, and ended up with a ruptured eardrum because of a severe middle ear infection. It was extremely painful and took months to heal, so get it checked early.

Hey dear, don't stress too much, it might just be a mild cold congestion causing the pain. Just take some steam inhalation with a drop of eucalyptus oil and keep your neck warm. If it still hurts tomorrow, definitely go see a doc, okay?

Let's be real, putting mustard oil or garlic juice in your ear is an outdated and risky idea. If you have pain, take a basic OTC painkiller like paracetamol for temporary relief and book an appointment with an ENT doctor. Don't mess around with your hearing.

My younger sister is having some mild pain in her right ear after swimming. Is it safe to use a hair dryer on a very cool, low setting from a distance to dry out any trapped water, or should we just wait for it to dry naturally?

Dealing with ear pain can be so exhausting. You can try sleeping with your head slightly elevated on an extra pillow, as this sometimes helps relieve the pressure inside the ear. Hope you get relief soon.
