How to treat dandruff at home?

My scalp has been very itchy and flaky lately, and I can see dandruff. It's quite embarrassing sometimes. I'm looking for effective ways to treat dandruff at home, maybe some easy remedies.

For me, applying a mixture of curd and a few drops of lemon juice on the scalp 30 minutes before washing worked wonders. My dandruff used to flare up in winters, but this simple routine really helped control the flaking.

Dandruff can be really annoying to deal with. Try using a good ketoconazole shampoo twice a week.

You can gently apply lukewarm neem oil mixed with coconut oil on your hair once a week. Neem has natural properties to keep the scalp clean. However, do not leave oil on your scalp overnight as it can attract more dust and worsen the dandruff.

I know how embarrassing it feels when you see white flakes on your dark clothes, it can make you feel so self-conscious. Don't worry, it is a very common scalp issue. Just be gentle with your hair and try a mild medicated shampoo.

Hey, I had terrible dandruff too and honestly, over-oiling made it worse for me. Try using an anti-dandruff shampoo containing zinc pyrithione or salicylic acid, and make sure you rinse your scalp thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Sometimes dry scalp and constant dandruff can be linked to hormonal imbalances like thyroid issues. Along with topical remedies, make sure you get your regular thyroid panel tests done and consult your physician to check if your thyroid dosage needs adjustment.

I completely understand how frustrating this is, I used to dread going out in public because of severe flaking and itching. It took a toll on my confidence. Finding the right anti-dandruff shampoo and being consistent with it was the only thing that finally gave me my peace back.
