My son was diagnosed with asthma at age 5, and the most important thing is to use the inhaler with a spacer exactly as the doctor prescribed. Don't be scared of inhalers, they target the lungs directly with a very low dose. Also, keep their soft toys clean and dust-free.

Our pediatrician explained that asthma is chronic inflammation, so controller inhalers are needed daily even when the child seems completely fine. He strictly told us not to stop the preventer medication on our own. Always identify and avoid triggers like cold air, smoke, and dust mites.

I had asthma as a child and my mom used to worry constantly. Honestly, regular swimming and playing outdoor sports actually helped strengthen my lungs over time. Just make sure you always carry their emergency blue inhaler in their school bag.

Along with the doctor's medical treatment, gentle breathing exercises can be highly beneficial. Teaching children simple deep breathing or 'Anulom Vilom' in a playful way helps improve lung capacity and keeps them calm during mild congestion. Always do it under guidance.
