How to treat cedar fever?

My husband just came back from a work trip to Texas, and he's been having really bad allergy-like symptoms, like sneezing and itchy eyes, which he calls 'cedar fever'. He's never had allergies before. What kind of treatments are there for this?

When I faced this massive pollen allergy during my travels, steam inhalation and saline nasal sprays were the only things that kept my nose clear. Everyone's body reacts differently to allergies, but staying indoors with an air purifier running really helped me survive the peak season.

While it is mostly a severe seasonal allergy, any breathing difficulty or persistent fever should not be treated at home. It is always safer to visit a proper doctor or allergist to confirm it is just cedar fever and not some other respiratory infection.

Please don't start drinking random herbal decoctions or taking OTC pills based on online advice. Allergies can be tricky and what worked for someone else might trigger a reaction in you. Get a proper consultation from a qualified physician first.

Don't let allergy symptoms ruin your work week. If you have constant sneezing and itchy eyes, just consult an general physician online for a quick antihistamine prescription. Keep your home windows shut during morning hours when pollen counts are highest to stay productive.

I know how exhausting it is when you can't stop sneezing, your eyes are burning, and you feel completely run down. It can make you feel so anxious and miserable. Just take it easy, rest up, and let a doctor guide you on the right medication to find relief.

No need to panic about this allergy. Just do warm saltwater gargles twice a day, wear a good N95 mask whenever you go outside to block the pollen, and wash your face and hair after coming home so the dust doesn't stick to your bed.
