How to treat appendix pain?

My younger brother is complaining of a sharp pain near his belly button that moved to his lower right side. We're taking him to the doctor, but we're scared it might be appendix. How is appendix pain usually treated?

Appendix pain is a medical emergency that can lead to a rupture if ignored. Please do not wait or take painkillers at home; go to the nearest emergency room immediately for an ultrasound.

I usually try home remedies for general stomach aches, but for appendix pain, none of those will work. If the pain is on the lower right side of your stomach, go straight to a hospital.

My doctor explained that acute appendicitis almost always requires surgical removal (appendectomy) to prevent life-threatening infection. Trying to treat it with antibiotics alone at home is highly risky.

I had this exact pain last month and thought it was simple gas. It got so severe that I had to undergo emergency laparoscopic surgery the same night; please get it checked by a surgeon immediately.

Please don't panic, but you need to act fast. If the pain is sharp and accompanied by vomiting or fever, pack a bag and head to a good hospital clinic right now.
