How to test thyroid at home?

I've heard some people say you can check your thyroid at home, maybe by looking at your neck or something. Is there any reliable way to test for thyroid issues by myself before going to a doctor?

I have had hypothyroidism for five years now. There is no magic home DIY test for this. I just use apps like Tata 1mg or Apollo to book a blood draw at home every six months, then show the report to my doctor.

You can't actually analyze the thyroid gland yourself at home. You have to book a home sample collection where a lab technician comes and takes your blood for a T3, T4, and TSH test. That is the only real way.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Just download any health app, book a home thyroid test, and someone will come to collect your blood sample. It's super cheap and you'll get the results on your email the next day.

I panicked so much when my hair started falling, thinking it was thyroid. I did a home-collection blood test and everything came completely normal. It's just a routine blood draw, so don't worry before you even get the report.

My doctor clearly told me that self-neck checks or checking basal body temperature are not reliable ways to test thyroid function. You must get a serum TSH test done by a certified laboratory to know the exact hormone levels.

Honestly, I thought there was some cool tool to test thyroid at home like a sugar monitor, but there isn't. You just have to get a regular blood test done. I got mine booked online and the lab guy came home in the morning.

At home, the only thing you can do is look in the mirror while drinking water to see if there is a big bulge in your neck! For actual accuracy, just pay a few hundred rupees and get a lab guy to poke your arm for blood.
