How to test soil acidity level?

My potted plants don't seem to be thriving despite regular watering and sunlight. Someone told me it could be because of the soil acidity. How do I accurately measure the soil acidity level at home?

Gardening is a great way to stay active and get some light physical exercise outdoors. For testing soil acidity, using a standard pH testing kit with litmus paper is the most practical method. Just make sure to stretch a bit after bending down in your garden!

Get a digital soil pH tester from any e-commerce site. Insert the metallic probe into damp soil, and you'll get an instant, accurate reading of the acidity level. It is the most efficient way to do it.

Don't stress too much about your plants, sometimes it just takes a little trial and error. Grab a simple digital pH meter online, it is very easy to use and will tell you the exact acidity level. Just make sure to wash your hands properly after working in the dirt.

You can find very cheap pH paper strips at any local pharmacy or nursery! 🌿 Just mix a bit of soil with water, dip the strip, and see the color change. It is super fun and easy to do!

I used the baking soda and vinegar test for my home garden. If the soil bubbles with baking soda mixed with water, it means your soil is quite acidic. It is a super simple method to try before buying any expensive tools.
