How to test for stroke at home?

My grandfather recently had a mild stroke, and now our family is very conscious. Are there any simple ways to check for signs of a stroke at home if someone suddenly feels unwell?

I love my heavy meals, but when it comes to stroke, you have to be super quick. Use the FAST method: check if their Face droops, if one Arm drifts down when raised, or if their Speech is slurred. If you see this, stop everything and rush to the nearest emergency room immediately.

As a diabetic, I am highly aware of vascular risks. You cannot test for a stroke at home with any kit, but you must check for sudden facial weakness, slurred speech, or difficulty raising both arms. If these signs appear, it is a medical emergency—go to the hospital immediately.

I always try to stay informed about health emergencies. While you can't run clinical tests at home, you can quickly assess someone using the FAST check—look at face drooping, arm weakness, and speech changes. Please call an ambulance immediately if you observe any of these.

A healthy, low-sodium vegetarian diet is great for preventing blood pressure issues, but a stroke is an absolute medical emergency. Check for sudden numbness, slurred speech, or loss of balance. Do not wait to see if it improves at home; go to a hospital right away.

I am trying to learn about basic first aid for my elderly parents. Is the FAST test the only way to check at home before calling a doctor? What should we do first while waiting for medical help to arrive?
