How to test for psoriatic arthritis?

I have psoriasis, and lately my joints have been really stiff and painful. My doctor mentioned psoriatic arthritis as a possibility. How do they test for psoriatic arthritis to confirm it?

Hello there! Psoriatic arthritis is usually diagnosed through a mix of physical exams, joint X-rays, and blood tests like RF and anti-CCP to rule out rheumatoid arthritis. If you already have skin psoriasis and are now getting joint pain, please see a rheumatologist soon.

You shouldn't ignore joint pain if you have skin issues, as joint damage can worsen over time. Go get a proper evaluation from a rheumatologist. They will likely order blood tests for inflammation, like ESR and CRP, and imaging of your joints to be safe.

Don't listen to people online who say certain diets or herbal supplements will cure your joint pain. Psoriatic arthritis needs proper clinical diagnosis through blood work and MRIs or X-rays. Verify everything with a certified rheumatologist.

My sister was diagnosed with this last year after she complained of swollen, sausage-like fingers. Her doctor ordered blood tests to check her inflammation markers and X-rays of her hands. That is how they confirmed it and started her treatment.

I was just diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis after months of joint stiffness. My doctor ran an HLA-B27 genetic test, checked my CRP levels, and did an ultrasound of my heels and fingers. Getting diagnosed early made a huge difference in managing my pain.

My joints creak so much in the morning I feel like a 90-year-old, but jokes aside, you can't test this on your own. Save yourself some sleepless nights and let a doctor run the blood tests and joint scans. It is much easier than guessing.

I know how terrifying it is when your joints start hurting and you already have skin issues. It's easy to panic, but getting a proper clinical diagnosis will actually ease your mind. A rheumatologist will do the necessary blood tests and X-rays to help you.

We went to a major hospital for my father's joint swelling. The rheumatologist there explained all the diagnostic steps clearly, including blood tests and MRIs to check for joint erosion. Don't hesitate to ask your specialist for a clear testing plan.
