How to test for chronic kidney disease?

My father has diabetes and kidney issues, and I've been feeling quite bloated and tired lately. I'm concerned about my kidneys. What tests are done to check for chronic kidney disease?

Oh, I totally get why you'd ask this! Mere saath bhi hua tha, I was so worried about some random symptoms I googled. But honestly, the best thing to do is just see a general physician. They'll probably do a simple blood and urine test to check kidney function, that's what my doc did.

Chronic kidney disease? Ugh, another thing to worry about when I'm already surviving on 4 hours of sleep. I hope it's not like, something you feel only when it's too late. Maybe I should just get a full body checkup, for my peace of mind if nothing else.

Good question! I was actually looking this up last week because my chacha-ji got diagnosed. From what I read, basic tests are blood creatinine, GFR (glomerular filtration rate), and a urine test for albumin. These give a good idea if something's off.

Honestly yaar, if you're worried about CKD, the first thing is to actually just get a simple blood test for creatinine levels and then a urine test. My neighbour had a scare, and that's all the doc suggested initially. Don't overthink it, just consult a proper doctor. They'll tell you what tests are needed.

See, for CKD, the early stages often have no symptoms, so regular checkups are key. My doctor usually starts with a comprehensive metabolic panel (which includes creatinine) and a urine microalbumin test. If those show anything, then they might go for an ultrasound or more specialized blood tests. Don't self-diagnose, just go to your GP.

Yo, my nani keeps talking about kidney issues so I know a bit. They usually do some blood tests and a pee test, I think it's called 'urine albumin'. If that's high, then they do more tests. But yeah, doc ke paas jaana hi padega for sure.
