How to tell the difference between hemorrhoids and cancer?

Been dealing with some issues in the anal area, and my neighbour said it sounds like hemorrhoids. But then I read online that sometimes the symptoms can be similar to something more serious like cancer. How do you tell the difference?

Arre bhai, yeh toh bohot important sawal hai. Hemorrhoids (piles) mein usually pain, itching, aur bright red blood hota hai after passing stool, haan na? Lekin colon cancer ke symptoms thode alag hote hain. Usmein stool mein blood dark ho sakta hai, weight loss ho sakta hai bina reason ke, aur bowel habits mein change aata hai. Agar kuchh bhi doubt ho, toh doctor ko dikhaana zaroori hai, na?

Okay, so this is like comparing a small pothole to a sinkhole, one is annoying, the other is seriously scary! 😂 Hemorrhoids are usually just annoying bumps with bright red blood and itching after you go to the loo. Cancer, on the other hand, is a much darker story – unexplained weight loss, dark blood in your stool, big changes in bathroom habits. If you're stressed, just get it checked, don't play guessing games with your bum!

This is a really important thing to understand, and I've read up on it. Hemorrhoids are usually painful or itchy, and you might see bright red blood after a bowel movement. Colon cancer, however, can have symptoms like dark or black blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, changes in bowel habits like constipation or diarrhea, or feeling very tired. If you notice any of these more serious signs, please, please see a doctor right away, don't wait.

Just as with diabetes where we monitor our body carefully, paying attention to changes is crucial here. Hemorrhoids usually cause bright red blood, itching, or pain around the anus, often related to straining. Cancer symptoms can be more subtle but serious, like unexplained weight loss, persistent changes in bowel habits, or dark/black blood in your stool. If you have any persistent symptoms, especially if they are unusual for you, a medical check-up is non-negotiable.

I get a little scared thinking about this. So, hemorrhoids usually have bright red blood, right? And cancer blood is darker? What if you have both? Is there any specific test that can tell for sure?
