How to tell the difference between headache and migraine?

Sometimes I get these really bad headaches that make me feel nauseous and sensitive to light, and they last for hours. My husband just calls them 'bad headaches', but I wonder if they are actually migraines. Is there a way to tell the difference?

Oh my god, this is so relevant! A normal headache is usually just a dull pain on both sides of your head, and you can still function. Migraines are a whole different beast. They're often on one side, throbbing, and come with light/sound sensitivity, nausea, and you feel like you need to lie down in a dark room. It's debilitating, honestly. If it's more than just a regular headache, don't ignore it!

I've tried everything for both! A regular headache is usually mild to moderate pain, feels like a band around your head. Migraines are much more intense, often throbbing, on one side of the head, and they bring light sensitivity, nausea, and sometimes even vision changes. For a migraine, the only home remedy that sometimes works for me is a dark, quiet room and a cold compress. But often, you need specific meds for migraines.

Haan na, it's so confusing sometimes! Normal headache toh thoda sa dard hota hai, maybe because of too much screen time or stress. Migraine, that's different. It's like a severe, throbbing pain, often on one side, aur uske saath nausea, sensitivity to light aur sound. You can barely do anything, ho na? It's much more intense and disruptive.

Yaar, normal headache toh like tension se ya phir thoda stress se hota hai, no? It's like a dull ache. But migraine, actually, it's next level. It's super strong, throbbing, sometimes one-sided, aur uske saath vomiting, light se irritation, sound se irritation. You just want to hide in a dark room. Big difference, actually!

I just recovered from a terrible migraine, and trust me, it's nothing like a normal headache. A regular headache is a dull ache, maybe mild. My migraine was a pounding pain behind one eye, with extreme sensitivity to light and sound, and I felt so nauseous I couldn't eat. I literally had to lie in a dark room all day. It's much more debilitating.

Okay, so like, a normal headache is annoying but you can still chill. 😑 A migraine? That's a whole different monster! 🤯 It's usually super intense, throbbing, often on one side, and brings nausea, dizziness, and you just want to hide from all light and sound. Get it checked if you suspect migraine, don't just pop a normal painkiller! 💊

I sometimes get really bad headaches, but I'm not sure if they are migraines. Are migraines always on one side? And do they always come with nausea? What about blurry vision, is that also a migraine symptom?

Just like how I monitor my BP, it's important to differentiate these. A regular headache is usually mild to moderate, dull pain. Migraines are far more severe, often throbbing, one-sided, and accompanied by light/sound sensitivity, nausea, or even visual aura. If your headaches are frequent or debilitating, affecting your daily life, it's essential to consult a doctor, just like regular BP checkups. Lifestyle plays a role too, reducing stress can help both.
