How to tell the difference between anxiety and heart attack?

I sometimes experience sudden chest pain and shortness of breath, especially when I'm under a lot of stress at work. My friends tell me it's just anxiety, but I always get worried it could be a heart attack. How do I know the difference?

Look, if you get severe chest pain that spreads to your arm or jaw, sweating, nausea, and shortness of breath, go to the hospital immediately. Don't think it's just anxiety. Anxiety attacks usually have more rapid heart rate and shortness of breath, but the chest pain is more tightness and doesn't spread like that. Better to be safe, always.

This is a really critical point, and it's so easy to confuse them. While anxiety can cause chest tightness and rapid heartbeat, a heart attack often presents with a crushing chest pain that might radiate to your arm, jaw, or back, along with cold sweats. Given how complex the body is, especially with conditions like PCOS affecting hormones which can impact anxiety, it's always safest to get immediate medical help if you experience these severe symptoms.

Oh my god, I overthink this all the time! Like, what if it's not anxiety? The key is if the chest pain is crushing, radiating to your arm or jaw, and you're also super sweaty and nauseous – that's when you really need to get it checked right away for a heart attack. Anxiety chest pain is usually sharper, more localized, and you might feel tingly. But honestly, if you're ever in doubt, just go to the ER, don't second-guess yourself.

My son sometimes has panic attacks and his chest feels tight, but it passes. For a heart attack, the pain is much more severe, like crushing, and it can go to your arm or back. Also, people often feel really nauseous and dizzy with a heart attack. If there's any doubt, especially with severe, spreading pain, please, go to the hospital immediately. Don't risk it.

Dude, I once thought I was having a heart attack, but it was just a bad panic attack. My heart was pounding, I couldn't breathe properly. But then my friend told me heart attack pain often spreads to your arm or jaw, and you get super sweaty. My pain was just in my chest and kinda went away when I calmed down. Still, if it's serious chest pain, get it checked, no cap.
