How to tell if your thyroid is acting up?

I've been feeling really tired, gaining weight even though I'm not eating much more, and my hair is thinning. My cousin, who has thyroid issues, said it sounds like my thyroid is acting up. How can I tell?

I'm also trying to understand this. I've been feeling so sluggish and my hair is falling a lot. Could that be a thyroid symptom too? Do they just do a blood test to check it?

See, if you're suddenly gaining or losing weight without changing diet, feeling super tired all the time, or your mood swings are crazy, then thyroid could be an issue. Best to get a blood test done. Simple test, quick answer.

My sister found out she had thyroid issues because she was gaining weight very fast and felt super depressed. She finally went to the doctor, got some blood tests, and then started medication. So, if you feel something is off with your body, just get it checked, don't guess.

Just like how important it is to track sugar for diabetes, it's essential to notice body changes for thyroid. Feeling really cold or hot when others aren't, or changes in digestion, can be signs. Don't delay seeing a doctor to get proper tests done.

Like with my BP, lifestyle changes help, but for thyroid, you really need to monitor. If you notice persistent fatigue, unexplained weight changes, or changes in heart rate, get your TSH levels checked. Regular checkups are key, don't ignore it.

Beta, if you are feeling very tired even after rest, or your hair is falling a lot, or if you feel too hot or cold, it could be thyroid. A doctor should check your blood. Eat nutritious food and try to keep calm, but the blood test will tell you for sure.
