How to tell if you have enlarged thyroid?

My wife noticed a slight swelling in my neck area, and I've been feeling a bit fatigued lately. Could this be related to my thyroid? How does one usually figure out if it's enlarged?

I kept staring at my neck in the mirror for days thinking it looked slightly swollen and panicked about thyroid cancer. Honestly, if you feel a tightness in your neck, difficulty swallowing, or a visible lump, please get an ultrasound done. It is usually just a simple swelling, but getting it checked will save you from so much stress!

I was researching this because my mother was complaining of a choking feeling while wearing her necklaces. From what I read, an enlarged thyroid or goiter can cause a visible bulge at the base of the neck, coughing, or voice changes. A doctor usually does a quick physical touch test and blood work to confirm it.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Sometimes we just feel a bit of fullness in the throat due to acidity or a mild cold. But if your collars are feeling tight or you actually see a small swelling when you swallow water, just get a quick thyroid profile test done to be sure. It's super simple.

I love my heavy punjabi meals, so when I started having trouble swallowing my favorite parathas, I knew something was wrong. It felt like a small block in my lower neck, which turned out to be a slightly enlarged thyroid node. If food is not going down smoothly, please don't ignore it and get a medical checkup done.

I am actually facing something similar where my neck feels a bit heavy when I swallow. Does an enlarged thyroid always mean we will have weight gain as well, or can it happen without any other symptoms? I am planning to see a doctor soon but wanted to know if anyone else felt this way.

Bro, my gym trainer noticed a slight bump on my neck when I was doing shoulder presses. I had no pain, but the doctor did an ultrasound and found my thyroid gland was enlarged. If you see a physical change in your lower neck, just get a doctor to feel it; don't wait for it to hurt.
