How to tell if a tb test is positive?

My father recently had a TB test done, and we're waiting for the official results, but he's anxious. I saw the spot on his arm, and it looks red and raised. How can you tell if a TB skin test is positive based on how it looks?

Please do not trust random internet remedies or try to measure the skin bump yourself. A TB skin test must be read by a trained healthcare professional exactly 48 to 72 hours after injection. Go back to your clinic and let the doctor verify the exact induration size.

Haan yaar, self-diagnose mat karo check-up ke mamle mein. The test is positive only if there is a hard, raised bump on your arm, not just redness, understood na? Just go back to the hospital and let them measure it properly.

Totally agree. Only a doctor can determine if the swelling is a positive reaction based on your health history.

I literally kept staring at my arm and panicking that it was turning red and swollen. But the nurse told me redness alone doesn't mean anything; it is the firm swelling that they measure. Try not to stress too much and get the doctor to check it on time.

I went through the Mantoux test during my screening. They look for a hard, raised area of a certain millimeter size, which varies depending on your risk factors. Don't scratch or put any creams on the test site, and make sure you show it to the doctor within the 72-hour window.
