How to tell heartburn from heart attack?

After eating, I often get this burning sensation in my chest, sometimes spreading to my throat. My father had a heart attack a few years ago, so I always get scared. How can I tell if this chest burning is just heartburn or something more serious like a heart attack?

Heartburn is usually a burning sensation that moves up your chest, often after a heavy or spicy meal, and it tends to get worse when you lie down. A heart attack, however, is a crushing pressure and won't change with your posture. Keep your workouts light if you have acid reflux, and always get a checkup if the pain is severe.

I get bad acidity issues due to my PCOS diet changes, and it can be really scary when the chest burns. But I've learned that if the pain spreads to your left arm or jaw, or if you feel sudden cold sweats, it could be a heart issue. Please don't take a chance with chest pain; get it checked by a doctor.

I have seen this confusion happen so many times in our community. Heartburn usually eases up after you take an antacid or drink cold milk, but a heart attack will not respond to these things and is accompanied by breathlessness. If you feel any squeezing pressure, please go to the hospital immediately.

Haan na, acid reflux can feel so bad sometimes we get totally scared! But usually, acidity comes with a sour taste in the mouth and gets better when you sit straight, ho na. If it is a heavy pressure like someone is sitting on your chest, please don't wait and see a doctor right away.

Bro, my roommate once panicked at 2 AM thinking he was having a heart attack after eating three plates of late-night biryani. It turned out to be just extreme acidity that went away with Eno. But seriously, if the chest pain is radiating or you feel breathless, don't ignore it and get medical help.

I totally get it, chest discomfort is so terrifying and your mind immediately goes to the worst case scenario. Heartburn usually has that hot, burning track up to your throat, while heart pain is a deep, heavy pressure. Take a slow breath, and please consult a doctor to be absolutely safe.

Beta, if it is simple heartburn from food, drinking a glass of cold milk or chewing a few fennel seeds will bring relief. But if the pain is heavy, squeezing, and accompanied by breathing difficulty, it is a serious heart matter. Please do not rely on home remedies then, go to a hospital immediately.

I once delayed going to the hospital thinking my chest pain was just gastric acidity, and it turned out to be a minor block. Please never assume it is just heartburn if the pain is severe, crushing, or makes you feel weak. Get an ECG done immediately; a doctor's checkup is the only safe way.

At fifty-four, every time I eat spicy pav bhaji, my chest screams and I have to ask myself if it's the end or just gas. Jokes apart, if the pain comes with dizziness, sweating, or makes it hard to breathe, drop the antacids and head straight to the clinic. Don't play guessing games with your heart.

Hey, don't panic. Heartburn is a burning feeling that stays mostly in your chest and throat, especially after eating. A heart attack feels like a heavy squeezing or fullness, often with shortness of breath and sweating. If you are even slightly unsure, let's play it safe and visit the nearest doctor right now.
