How to tape mouth for sleep?

I heard about mouth taping for better sleep and to help with snoring. It sounds a bit strange, but how exactly do you tape your mouth for sleep, and is it actually safe?

Haan na, mouth taping is trending so much on social media nowadays! But actually, putting tape on your mouth while sleeping sounds a bit scary. It is better to use a very gentle micropore tape vertically, so you can still breathe from the sides if you feel suffocated.

I totally understand why you want to try this, as breathing through your mouth at night can make you wake up feeling exhausted. But the thought of not being able to open your mouth can cause a lot of panic. Please start by doing it for just 10 minutes during the day while reading to get used to the feeling first.

Bro, I've been doing this for three months now. Just use a small vertical strip of 3M micropore tape right in the middle of your lips. It stops snoring completely and you don't wake up with a dry mouth. It's totally safe, just don't do it if you have a blocked nose.

Yes, I agree that mouth taping helps with nasal breathing. Just make sure you use surgical micropore tape from the chemist, not packing tape, as it is very gentle on the lips.

Poor sleep quality can actually spike your blood sugar levels in the morning. Mouth taping might help some, but if you snore heavily, it's better to check if it's related to your weight or metabolism. Do consult a doctor to get a clear picture.

I noticed my sleep quality score on my fitness tracker improved significantly after I forced nasal breathing. If you want to try mouth taping, buy specialized sleep strips that have a small breathing slit in the middle. It's a much safer and modern option than regular tape.

Please be very careful with this trend. If you have undiagnosed sleep apnea, blocking your mouth can be extremely dangerous. You should get a proper sleep study done and consult an ENT doctor before trying to tape your mouth shut at night.
