For top of the foot pain, run a strip of kinesiology tape from the base of your toes up towards your ankle with almost zero stretch. Then, place a second strip horizontally across the painful area with medium stretch. It relieves the pressure on the tendons, but don't wear it if it feels too tight.

I have been having this dull ache on the top of my foot for a week now, especially when I tie my laces. Has anyone else tried taping it? Did it actually help or did it just restrict your movement? I'm worried it might make the joint stiff.

If you don't have time for elaborate taping, just get a slip-on elastic foot sleeve from a local pharmacy. It does the same job as tape, saves you 15 minutes every morning, and fits easily inside your formal office shoes.

I completely understand how frustrating and worrying it is when walking starts hurting. It is totally normal to feel anxious about physical pain. Try a simple 'I' strip of tape on the top to support the area, but please see a doctor if the pain doesn't go down in a few days.

Beta, before you apply any sticky plastic tape, soak your feet in warm water mixed with rock salt for fifteen minutes. It takes away all the tiredness and swelling from the joints. If you must tape it, use a soft cotton cloth or a gentle crepe bandage.

I used to suffer from severe foot strain during my daily walks years ago. Taping definitely helps support the bones, but the real solution is giving it rest and changing your shoes. Don't worry, these pains are very common and do heal with time.
