When someone is feeling low, sometimes a warm, home-cooked satvik meal or some comforting herbal tea can help open them up. But remember, good food only comforts the body; if they are really struggling, please gently suggest they speak to a specialist.
Don't sit them down like you're about to fire them from a job! Just grab some chai, sit casually, and ask, 'Hey, you've been a bit quiet lately, everything okay in that brain of yours?' Keep it light so they don't feel cornered.
If you notice a friend struggling, encourage them to consult a clinical psychologist. You can offer to help them book an appointment at a well-reputed hospital. Your role is to support them in getting professional help, not to treat them yourself.

Invite them out for a simple walk in the park. Sometimes, moving around in fresh air makes it much easier to talk about heavy stuff than sitting in a closed room. Just listen to them and don't push them too hard.

I totally get it, you want to help but you are so scared of saying the wrong thing and making them withdraw. Just be honest and tell them you love them and are worried. Even a simple 'I'm here for you' means the world.
Dealing with hormonal issues taught me how deeply physical and mental health are linked. When talking to someone, don't give them toxic positivity or say 'just be happy.' Just validate their pain and support them in seeking medical advice.
