How to take psyllium husk for diabetes?

My father has diabetes and someone suggested psyllium husk might help manage blood sugar. I'm wondering how exactly he should take it – like, what's the dosage, timing, and with water or milk? Need clear instructions.

I have a hectic schedule, so I just mix one teaspoon of Isabgol in a glass of warm water and drink it quickly before dinner. Don't let it sit or it becomes a thick gel which is impossible to swallow. It really helps keep my next-morning sugar levels stable.

Psyllium husk is great for slowing down digestion and preventing glucose spikes, but it works best when paired with 30 minutes of strength training. Mix a teaspoon in water about 20 minutes before a carb-heavy meal. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Actually, you should start with just half a teaspoon first, yaar. If you take too much Isabgol suddenly, your stomach will bloat like crazy. Drink it with a big glass of water before food and see how your body reacts.

In our family, we have been using Isabgol for years for digestion, but for diabetes, you must be careful. Take one spoon in warm water at night, but don't stop your prescribed diabetes medicines. Always let your doctor know what home remedies you are taking.

I was researching natural ways to manage insulin sensitivity and found that psyllium husk really helps block quick sugar absorption. Most articles suggest starting with a small dose in water before your main meal. Definitely checking with my doctor on this during my next visit.

Make sure you do not take psyllium husk at the exact same time as your diabetes medications. It can absorb the medicine and reduce its effect. Keep at least a two-hour gap between your medicine and the husk, and drink lots of fluids.
