How to take mental health leave from work?

I've been feeling incredibly overwhelmed and burnt out at work for months now, and it's starting to affect my mental health. I think I need a break to recover, but I'm not sure how to approach my manager about it. How can I take mental health leave from work in India?

I've been thinking about this too, but I'm so scared about how my manager will react. Has anyone else felt this way before taking one? I don't want them to think I'm not committed. It's a bit stressful just thinking about it.

The key is to check your company's policy first. Usually, you need a doctor's note, just like any other medical leave. Talk to your HR or manager confidentially. Frame it as a temporary need for recovery, just like a physical illness. Most companies are getting better at supporting this now.

This is something I'm trying to understand. So, do you have to tell them *why* it's for mental health, or can you just say medical leave? I'm a bit nervous about sharing details. Any tips on how to approach HR politely?

I took a mental health break last year, and it was the best decision. I just spoke to my HR and said I needed time off for personal health reasons, and provided a doctor's note for medical leave. Didn't go into too many specifics, and they were very understanding.

Your inner peace is paramount. Sometimes a break is needed to reset and find clarity. Trust in the universe and listen to your body and mind. Take that time for reflection and self-care, and come back stronger.

My son also faced this. What we did was, we got a doctor's recommendation for a break. Then he spoke to his HR and was very clear about needing time for his well-being. It's important to set boundaries and let them know you'll be back recharged. Companies understand.

Mental health leave? Man, I just need a leave to catch up on sleep! 😂 But seriously, if you need it, take it. My brain feels fried most days. Just tell HR you're burnt out and need a break. Hope they understand.

Ho na, it's really important to prioritize your peace of mind. Just like you'd take leave for a fever, mental health also needs attention. Speak to your manager or HR, they usually understand. Don't feel bad about it, haan.

Most companies treat mental health leave like any other sick leave these days. Get a certificate from a psychologist or psychiatrist saying you need time off. You don't have to disclose all your symptoms to your boss, just that you need medical leave for a few days/weeks.
