How to take cod liver oil?

My mother used to give us cod liver oil when we were kids for general health, but I never really liked the taste. Now I'm thinking of starting it for myself and my children. What's the best way to take cod liver oil these days?

My doctor recommended cod liver oil for its Omega-3s and Vitamin D, especially during winters. She said to take it after a meal to avoid any indigestion or fishy burps. The dosage depends on the concentration, so always check the product label or your doctor's specific advice. Overdosing on Vitamin A, also present, can be harmful.

If you have thyroid issues like me, it's important to discuss any new supplements like cod liver oil with your endocrinologist. While generally beneficial, it's good to confirm there are no contraindications with your medication. And keep up with your regular thyroid function tests.

Hey! Don't stress, it's pretty simple. Most people just pop a capsule or take a spoon of the liquid form, usually with a meal. It's really good for you, especially for bones and immunity. Just follow the dosage on the bottle, or ask your doc if you're confused!

Oh, cod liver oil... I always worry about the fishy taste and if I'm taking the right dose. It's usually taken as a capsule or a spoonful of liquid, preferably with a meal to minimize burps. Just make sure to check the Vitamin D and A content, as too much of those can be bad. Maybe double-check with your doctor?

I just recovered from a deficiency and my doctor told me to take cod liver oil. I take one capsule daily with my lunch, as advised. Taking it with food helps avoid that weird fishy aftertaste. You can also get it in liquid form, but capsules are easier for me.

Cod liver oil is a solid supplement for overall health, especially for joint support which is important for us fitness folks. I take it as capsules after my biggest meal. It helps with inflammation too. Just ensure you're getting it from a reputable brand and staying within the recommended dosage.

It's best taken with food to aid absorption and reduce potential stomach upset or the 'fishy burps' that some people get. Follow the dosage on the specific product packaging, as concentrations vary. It's a good source of Vitamin D and Omega-3s. If you're on blood thinners, consult your doctor first.

Please be careful with any supplements. I once self-medicated and ended up with side effects. Cod liver oil is beneficial, but always check the specific dosage on the bottle and perhaps even ask your family doctor once. Don't just assume what's online is right for you, learn from my mistake!
